Cultivating & Celebrating Black Joy in Schools w/Dr. Tyrone Howard

#19 – Special guest, Dr.  Tyrone Howard,  Endowed Professor of Education and Information Studies at UCLA, joins Dr. Terrance L. Green on the Racially Just Schools Podcast. Terrance and Tyrone discuss the importance of schools getting real about race and racism, some indicators of what schools that affirm Black youth’s identities might be doing (i.e., Black Joy). We also talked about what districts might do to attract and retain Black teachers, and finally, Dr. Howard offered a powerful and practical framework to help leaders and educators shift their lens towards doing racial justice and equity work in schools. And we discussed so much more.
